  • 2 pounds baby back ribs
  • 3 tbsp white wine vinegar

Hinkle Seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp onion flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp monk fruit sweetener or organic cane sugar for non whole 30 version 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper

Instructions

  • The first thing we need to make sure we do is to remove the tough membrane on the rib. It is the tissue that is attached to the pork ribs underside. We want to make sure to REMOVE this barrier before we marinate our ribs with our dry rub. It is super easy to remove and should only take a few seconds. I use gloves to remove the membrane that way my hands do not slip.

How to Remove the Membrane of the Ribs:

  • First you are going to find the membrane by flipping your ribs over so that they are curving toward you. Bone side facing you. You will see a thin translucent type of tissue attached. That is what you are removing! You will pull corner of the membrane on one edge of the ribs like a knife like you see in picture above.
  • Then once you have pulled up the part of the membrane you should be able to continue to pull it up using your fingers until it has fully operated from the ribs along the whole rack. The membrane is the only thing that should pull from the ribs easily, so don't be worried that you are pulling off too much!

After Removing the Membrane on the Ribs:

  • Next add all the ingredients of the Hinkle Seasoning in small container & whisk together. Then you will seasoning both sides generously with all of the Hinkle Seasoning and let marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  • After the ribs are done marinating you will add 1 cup water to your Instant Pot. Then add 3 tbsp of white wine vinegar to the water.
  • Add your trivet on top, then place your rack of ribs in the instant pot. You will place the rack with tip of the bone side down. You will curve them as much as you need to, to make a C shape as above.
  • Then high pressure cook for 23 minutes and naturally release for 5 minutes.
  • Place your ribs on a oven safe rack. Then add 1 cup of Halo & Cleaver Backyard Red BBQ Sauce & 2 tsp of monk fruit sweetener to a bowl. Whisk until thoroughly combined.
  • Then spread the BBQ mixture on top of the BBQ Baby Back Ribs. Then add to your oven and broil on high for 2-3 minutes until the BBQ starts to get bubbly. Then enjoy!!
