Vegan Valentine Puppy Chow

I mean you have to have a little PINK sweet treat on Valentine's Day or Galentine's day right?? I decided to vamp up the traditional puppy chow or muddy buddy treat that consumed every holiday party I went to growing up! Adding in a little natural pink coloring & whipped it up to where it is a vegan recipe made with love! So simple, with 6 ingredients, perfect to throw in to lunches as a little treat or tide over your sweet tooth :) ENJOY!


3 1/2 cups Chex cereal

2 cups dairy free chocolate ( My favorite is Enjoy Life Chocolate)

2 tbsp creamy tahini

3 tbsp coconut cream (in a can, not coconut milk, make sure it is the cream)

1-2 cups of Organic Powdered Sugar ( it needs to be an organic powdered sugar if you want it to be vegan)

2-4 tsp of Beet Root powder ( that is what gives it the pink color!!)


1. In a large mixing bowl pour in your Chex cereal & set aside

2. In a small stock pot add in 2 cups water, & then cradle a microwave save bowl over the stock pot to where it will hover over the stock pot with water. Then pour in chocolate, tahini & coconut cream & turn on medium heat. Take a spatula & mix occasionally until it is all melted, creamy & well... delicious :)

3. Then pour the chocolate mixture all over the cereal & with a spatula mix until all the cereal is evenly coated. Then place bowl in the refrigerator for 25 minutes. This will allow it to cool & the powdered sugar to stick with it, without it being so warm that the powdered sugar melts into it.

4. In a small bowl whisk 1 cup powdered sugar & 2 tsp of beet powder. Then take Chex out of the fridge, pour into plastic bag or stasher bag, then sprinkle the powdered sugar mixture over it, close bag & shake to evenly coat! If you need more powdered sugar & beet mixture, make a bit more & sprinkle over mixture, then shake well again. Repeat until full coated & then let cool for 30 minutes. Then place in air tight container for a week, if it lasts that long :)

PRO TIP: I like to store mine in the fridge :)
