French Onion Soup Burgers
Updated: Aug 26, 2019
WOW. I am adoring these. If you love French onion soup you will LOVE LOVE these burgers. If you don't love French onion soup, there is still hope for you yet... because this is not soup & there are no stringy onions to get caught up on :) Really best of both worlds here! My family gobbled these up super quick & want more already. Enjoy!
** Also you can make these with ground chicken if you do not eat red meat. See details below as well!
2 lbs ground beef
1/4 cup minced onion
2 tbsp Worcester sauce
1/2 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp celery seed
1/4 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
3 pieces of Swiss cheese for inside the burgers
Bag of butter garlic croutons
8 slices for on top of the burgers
1. In a medium bowl add minced onion, parsley, onion powder, garlic salt, celery seed, paprika & cayenne pepper. Whisk together in the bowl & set aside.
2. In a large bowl add in 2 lbs ground beef, then pour the Worcester sauce over the meat. Then sprinkle in half of the seasoning mixture. Then with your hands mix to combine seasoning well with the meat. Then sprinkle the second half of the seasoning & mix to combine again as well. Next break apart the 3 pieces of Swiss cheese into the bite size pieces & incorporate it thoroughly into the meat.
3. Then grill, put in air fryer or fry on frying pan-- which ever method you choose for burgers!
4. Once their cooked. Place a piece on top & place on broil for a few minutes until it starts to melt, then stick a couple crumbled croutons on top. I like to put it on a bottom piece of the bun & eat it without the top because of the croutons.
Top with my pickled onions ((( in my street tacos post))) is ALWAYS a plus!
